What is a chord?
A chord is a concept first used on the Braille 'n Speak from Blazie Engeneering in the 1980s. It involves pressing and holding the spacebar and then typing a letter, and then letting go of all keys. to perform certain actions. On your Braille Plus, you can do everything through the telephone keypad, or you can use chords. For all of the chords, see the table above, or see the
Type Text section of the Icon and Braille Plus manual.
what is computer braille?
Computer Braille is not grade one, it is Ascii Braille (American Standard Code for Information Interchange braille). In computer braille, you can not type contracted braille. The symbols are what are contractions in grade two.
Example:
TH-chord in grade two is the question mark (?) in computer braille. For the list of Computer Braille symbols, see:
the type text section of the Icon and Braille Plus user's guide.
