Appendix B: Self-Study Guide and Rules of the Road
Dona Sauerburger is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist who provides itinerant orientation and mobility services to adults and teenagers who have visual impairments, blindness, and deafblindness. She works primarily in Maryland and suburban Washington, D.C. Dona has a Master's degree specializing in Orientation and Mobility from Western Michigan University.
Dona is the author of Independence Without Sight or Sound: Suggestions for Practitioners Working With Deaf-Blind Adults, which received the 1994 C. Warren Bledsoe Award for Publication. She is the co-author of two chapters in Foundations of Orientation and Mobility, Volume 1, Third Edition. Both books are available from AFB Press. Dona is also the recipient of the Lawrence E. Blaha Award for outstanding contributions to the field of Orientation and Mobility.
